My
designs are carefully charted with the stitchers'
eyeballs being my #1 priority. I use large print, good quality
paper, and, for the more complex designs, I use alpha-numeric
symbols in large, sharp, black Courier New font. I offer both email
(.pdf) and paper versions
of my charts.
Many
of these pieces are charted using good ol' fashioned paper and
pencil, then transferred to Pattern Maker Pro for easy
readability. Each design is stitched and proofed for
mistakes, and painstakingly reviewed for stitchability. I
check for uniformity, confetti, readability, and errors.
Each chart has
its own web page for purchase of the chart. Any items
pertaining to that design, errata,
suggestions, feedback, photos, chart notes, shopping cart--and
sometimes stories--will be posted. Complete stitching
instructions come with each chart, as well as a stitch-per-color
count and the amount of floss I estimate you'll need to complete
the project. I try to offer a good mix of original designs
and licensed art--well,
actually, I pretty much stitch whatever catches my eye.
I also offer Build
Your Own KitsTM. Since I
like to experiment and stitch with a variety of fabrics, fibers,
sparkles, and techniques, I offer for sale the exact items I
used to create the models. I know that a lot of what I
like can't be found in traditional LNSs, may be hard to find in
craft stores, and that not everybody has the same chain stores
available to them to buy the supplies. You can add as many
of the supplies to your order as you like or none at all. It's
just a value-added service I like to provide to assure you that
you can get
everything you need to complete the chart as printed, if you
like.
Finally, I
offer gift certificates in any
denomination and a confidential
giving service. If you have ever
participated in a secret stitcher program, you've either had the
fear that your secret pal will find out who you are or you have
had the actual experience of your secret pal finding out who you
are by a careless clerk or getting lost in the files of a larger
business. It ruins the surprise for your pal and it ruins
the thrill of being anonymous for you. Well. I love
surprising people. I love
helping other people surprise
people. I love
wrapping things and curling the
ribbon and writing little notes. I love
throwing unexpected lagniappes in here and
there. Most of all, I love
keeping your secrets! Email
me and together, we'll whip up something faboo.
I
delight in and depend upon the creativity of each stitcher. I
expect that many of you will (and should, if it’s your wont)
alter colors, embellishments, and specialty stitches to suit
your taste--and I’ll grovel for photos of your stitchery to
post on our website! I hope you enjoy breathing life into a bit
of fabric, thread, and pretties.
